THE STORY

SOME HISTORIES
ARE KEPT BY HAND.

Old Sidon is full of people who know how to mend, cut, shape, cook, repair, remember, and make do. Their knowledge rarely appears in an archive. It lives in a shop, in a tool worn smooth, in a sentence told between customers.

This project gives that knowledge a durable digital home. Each participant can have an oral history, a photographic portrait, a simple website, a place on Google Maps, and a page that can be found long after the shop sign has faded.

The goal is not to turn people into nostalgia. It is to let them describe their work in their own words, make their businesses easier to find today, and leave a record that tomorrow can inherit.

PORTRAITS OF PRACTICE

THE KNOWLEDGE
INSIDE A WORKSHOP.

These visual studies establish the archive's tone. Published profiles will name every participant with consent and tell each story in the person's own words.

HOW TO SUPPORT THE ARCHIVE

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO
SEND MONEY.

For many of these businesses, being seen is already meaningful.
READ A STORY

Give someone a few honest minutes of your attention.

VISIT THE SHOP

If you are nearby, walk in, say hello, and support the work directly.

SHARE THE PAGE

Help a name travel farther than the street where it began.

SAVE THE PLACE

Add the business to your map and leave an honest review after a real visit.

If a featured business chooses to list services, products, or a verified community need, its page can link directly to it. The archive itself does not collect money.

STORIES FROM THE ARCHIVE

OPEN A DOOR.
MEET THE PERSON.

Each initiative opens into its own story page with photographs, written chapters, practical business information, and video when it is ready.
OPENING THE STORY CABINET

FROM A CONVERSATION TO A PLACE ONLINE

MAKE THE STORY
FINDABLE.

LISTEN

Record the person, the work, the place, and the details that only they know.

PORTRAY

Make photographs and a short film that preserve presence without staging a performance.

LOCATE

Create or improve the business listing so the workshop can be found on Google Maps.

PUBLISH

Give the story a durable page, a memorable domain, and a link that families can keep and share.

A DIGITAL ADDRESS

A HOME ON THE INTERNET,
ROOTED IN A REAL PLACE.

A small business should not disappear because it never had a website. A profile can combine the owner's voice, photographs, opening details, directions, and a direct map link. If a dedicated domain helps, the project can build that too.
